Music uses all of your brain – emotions, reasoning, time and space recognition, and is a very positive focus for a child. It teaches teamwork (playing in the drumline, orchestra, or marching band at school) and goal-setting (practicing to improve). A child can take pride in the accomplishment of learning to play an instrument, and this can reinforce the concept that work and self-discipline will pay off - - and it’s fun!
If you are an adult, remember that it is NEVER TOO LATE to learn! You wanted to play the drums in high school, but your parents made you take the flute instead...Well, you’re the grown-up now! Go get some bongos or a djembe or a drumset, and let me help you have some real fun with them!
I can assist in the selection of an instrument - I know it can be daunting to try to figure out which brand/model/price range is right, especially if you are not familiar with the instrument.
My philosophy is that music is truly a gift from God, just like a perfect sunrise, or a beautiful mountain - - and it is always there, you just need to tap into it
